Altitude: 960 m.a.m.s.l.

Kapologwe falls is a waterfall on one of the tributaries that flow into the river Kiwira near Tukuyu in the south western region of Tanzania. It is mostly famous not for its size but rather the large cave that lies behind the falls, the plunge pool below that serves as a good swimming spot, the greenery and natural beauty surrounding it and finally its remote and tranquil location that also makes it an ideal hiking destination.

Location of Kapologwe waterfallKapologwe falls is located on one of the tributaries of the Kiwira river that eventually flows all the way into lake Nyasa. The tributary is called river Kala and the waterfall itself is less than a kilometre from the main river, being formed as a result of the steep descent that the tributary has to make into the main river valley.

The waterfall is also nearĀ Daraja la Mungu (Gods Bridge), another attraction that is located on the same Kiwira river but further upstream. Both are located in Rungwe district of Mbeya region – Tanzania.
