Lake Magadi of Ngorongoro is an alkaline crater lake, with the name ‘Magadi’ being swahili for soda. It is often inhabited by thousands of lesser flamingoes and gets its water from combination of rainfall and a stream that drains water from Olmoti crater in the north.

Location of lake MagadiLake Magadi of Tanzania is located on the eastern part of Ngorongoro crater, in the northern part of the country. Not to be confused with the Kenyan one which is located about a hundred kilometres north of it.References1.
